Advanced Practitioners

You may be offered an appointment to see one of our Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP’s) or Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP’s) when you ask for an appointment. Our ANP’s / ACP’s have undergone an advanced programme of additional training to enable them to safely assess, examine, diagnose and prescribe for patients in their care. ANP’s / ACP’s undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients who present with complex multiple healthcare needs and can prescribe medication, request x-rays and refer on to secondary care when appropriate.

The practice currently employs three fully qualified ACP/ANP’s:

Edwina Williams

Additional Roles

You may be offered an appointment to see one of our ‘additional roles’ members of staff when you ask for an appointment, depending on you needs. The Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme was introduced in England in 2019 as a key part of the government’s manifesto commitment to improve access to general practice. We have several members of staff working alongside our GP’s to provide additional capacity and support the delivery of new services in primary care.

Clinical Pharmacists

Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), our Clinical Pharmacists conduct medication reviews and provide medication advice to healthcare professionals and patients.

Mental Health Practitioners

We have two mental health nurse practitioners at the practice who provide brief interventions if required, to facilitate onward referral and/or manage non-crisis, short-term, emotional support. They use their mental health knowledge and expertise to assess and proactively signpost patients to the right support, at the right time, and in the right place, to best meet patients personalised mental health needs and preferences.

Social Prescriber

Accredited by the Personalised Care Institute, our Social Prescriber helps people identify issues that affect their health and wellbeing when co-producing a personalised care and support plan. Connects people to non-medical community-based activities, groups and services that meet practical, social and emotional needs, including specialist advice services and the arts, physical activity and nature.

Health & Wellbeing Coach

Accredited by the Personalised Care Institute, our Health & Wellbeing Coach uses coaching skills to support people to make conscious and informed health choices, change behaviours and encourage proactive management and prevention of illness.

Physiotherapy

Assesses, diagnoses, treats and manages musculoskeletal (MSK) problems.
